Czech news portal iDNES published a questionable video that appears to show Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari driving on the D4 highway. The police are investigating.
This is what many fans and perhaps many racing drivers dream of: accelerating on a motorway in a Formula 1 driver. In the Czech Republic, the dream seems to have come true. iDNES, the web portal of the daily newspaper «Mladá fronta DNES», has posted a strange video online.
The Prague shows a racing car on the Czech highway D4, according to the area is a stretch between the cities of Pribram and Dobris in Bohemia.
Behind the wheel is a person wearing a Kimi Räikkönen helmet, at first glance the car is a Formula 1 Ferrari from 2007 to 2009. But the fans quickly realized that a lot is wrong.
The proportions of the car are wrong, the shape of the sidepods, the type of air vents, not to mention that Ferrari never worked with the French oil manufacturer Eleven and never had the Ferrari inscription on the side of the race car.
A slightly more critical look reveals: This is a GP2 car (according to 2009 form), which would then be a Dallara with a Renault’s 620 hp four-liter V8 engine, and this is what the driver sounds like in the video iDNES .
As reported by Prague portal iDNES, this vehicle was discovered three years ago on the same highway, much to the annoyance of the police, because of course this racing car is not street legal. In September 2019, the owner of the car was actually found, but because of the helmet it was not possible to clarify who was behind the wheel.
Fans reacted very differently to the new video. Some pointed out the dangers of such a ride, others felt that Kimi Raikkonen needed an adrenaline rush (knowing, of course, that “Iceman” wasn’t in the car here), still others joked that the driver hasn’t gone far, when he’s seated. in a (defect-prone) Ferrari.
