In this way, Pacheco will add a new world competition to those already existing in his career (Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020). .
The athlete took 11th place at the Seville Marathon with a time of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 38 seconds. With this record, the long-distance runner surpassed the mark he had to reach to qualify for the next Olympic Games: 2 hours, 11 minutes and 30 seconds.
Pacheco Not only will he be in Paris in 2014, but the time spent has allowed him to set a new record in the country that he set himself a year ago. The previous number was 2 hours, 9 minutes and 39 seconds, and he set it during the 2022 Lima 42K marathon.
With the number achieved, the 29-year-old became the second Peruvian athlete to qualify for the next Olympic Games, joining Gladys Tejeda, who took part in the competition last December 2022.
