Cristiano Ronaldo is struggling to hire a £4,500-a-month chef for his £17million home

Cristiano Ronaldo is trying to hire a chef to feed him and his family in their ‘eternal home’ – but is struggling to find one who meets his famously high standards, Web has learned.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is struggling to recruit someone to cook for him and loved ones at the £17million home he is understood to have built on the Portuguese Riviera.

The mansion, due for completion in June, has been dubbed Cristiano’s retirement home as he expects to make it his primary family home once he hangs up his boots – which could be anytime from this summer.

Some of the staff positions associated with the newly built palace, including a £4,800-a-month butler, are said to have already been filled, but the role of chef remains vacant.

The respected Portuguese daily Correio da Manha has traced the problem to demands from Cristiano and his partner, Spanish model and influencer Georgina Rodriguez, allegedly revolving around knowing how to cook traditional Portuguese food – as well as more international fare such as sushi.

The Portugal international, who sat on the bench during the World Cup in Qatar to the dismay of his sisters, is said to have specially designed an area for the preparation of the Japanese delicacy in his new villa on the Portuguese Riviera.

And the question of who should prepare sushi and other meals for him, Rodriguez and their five children is said to give him a headache.

Ronaldo, who was officially unveiled this month as Al-Nassr’s star of the Saudi squad and has signed a £173million-a-year contract, can’t find the right person despite offering a salary of reportedly around £4,500 a month for someone to do his magic favorite dishes.

Despite being a huge sushi lover, former Old Trafford striker Dolores Aveiro’s doting mother has revealed his favorite fish is bacalhau a bras, a traditional Portuguese dish made with cod, potatoes and eggs.

She spilled the secret last year when she admitted he also eats pizza once a week, although in an interview with a Portuguese TV presenter who let her into her Madeira home she added: “After that he does loads of it sit ups.”

Ronaldo claimed he turned down many clubs when he was unveiled as Al Nassr’s new superstar signing earlier this month.

He said: “I’m so proud to be making this big decision in my life. In Europe my work is done. I won everything and played for the most important clubs in Europe. This is a new challenge.”

His claim came on the back of reports he eventually traveled to the Middle East after seeing his efforts to continue playing Champions League football following his dramatic departure from Manchester United being scuttled.

The Athletic said Ronaldo had been made available to numerous unnamed Champions League teams for just £80,000 a week before his move to Saudi Arabia.

He is said to have performed the mega money move orchestrated by his friend and personal manager Ricardo Regufe, against the advice of his agent Jorge Mendes.

Web exclusively revealed last week that Ronaldo is staying in the Kingdom Tower, one of the tallest buildings in Saudi Arabia.

He was placed in one of the finest suites Riyadh has to offer, in one of 17 rooms occupied by his entourage, including his family, friends and security detail.

The cost of the hotel suite isn’t even listed on the hotel’s website and must be booked privately, just like the neighboring “Royal Suite”. But the smaller ‘Presidential Suite’ can be booked online and the cost for a night is a staggering £3,300 a night.

It is estimated that the hotel bill for Ronaldo and his entourage will exceed £250,000 by the time he checks out and has found a permanent home for his partner and children.

His move to Saudi Arabia has prompted social media users to attack him after footage of the superstar claiming he wants to “finish at the highest level” resurfaced online.

In a 2015 interview with Jonathan Ross, Ronaldo boldly claimed, “I want to finish at the highest level. I want to graduate with dignity, so in a good club.

“It doesn’t mean that going to the US, Qatar or Dubai isn’t good, but I don’t see myself.”

When asked by Ross, “Wouldn’t you want that for yourself?” The striker replied: “No.”
