Crystal Palace want to sack coach Roy Hodgson, former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner is the leading candidate to replace him.
Hodgson, 76, will leave Palace in 15th place in the Premier League table, just five points above the relegation zone after three wins in their last 19 games.
Glasner has been unemployed since leaving Eintracht at the end of the 2022/23 season and has one year left on his contract after winning the Europa League and reaching a DFB Cup final.
Palace announced on Thursday afternoon that their pre-match press conference, due to take place at 1:30pm (GMT), had been canceled after Hodgson fell ill during the morning training session.
Palace took seven points from their first four games of the season but have managed just three wins since September and were eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round by Everton.
Monday night's 3-1 home defeat to Chelsea was the fourth in five games, while some away support was needed in the humiliating 4-1 defeat to arch-rivals Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium the weekend before, according to Hodgson and chairman Steve Parish leave the club.

Hodgson is in his second spell at Palace, having been re-appointed on a short-term contract following the sacking of Patrick Vieira in March 2023. After leading the club out of the relegation zone with five wins and three draws from ten games, leaving them 11 points above the relegation zone, he signed a one-year contract last summer.
The former England manager previously spent four years in charge of Palace between 2017 and 2021. He signed a short-term contract with Watford in January 2022, but confirmed his departure after relegation to the Championship was sealed, saying he did not expect to take on another managerial position in the Premier League before leaving ten months later returned to the helm of Palace.
