BUENOS AIRES, Argentina.- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, held exchanges on Monday evening with the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mía Amor Mottley, who is attending this nation, also on the VII • Attend the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Summit.

It is a great pleasure to see you again and we feel very deeply for the recent visit to Barbados and all the love we take from this moment, assured the Head of State. “For us it is something unforgettable,” said the President during the meeting, which took place in Buenos Aires, a city that now gathers delegations from 33 nations, including the beloved brothers of the Caribbean.
Next, he outlined to the Prime Minister the steps the Cuban government had taken “to ensure that nothing we promised ourselves at the CARICOM-Cuba meeting last December remains unfulfilled.”
In this context, he commented on measures in the agricultural sector, with which food sovereignty projects for the entire Caribbean are very closely linked. These and other issues, President Díaz-Canel assured, would be monitored monthly.
“I am convinced that we can go far with everything that we agreed during the summit,” he said.
For her part, Mía Amor Mottley acknowledged that in the meetings that have taken place between the two, “we set a pretty fast pace in our meetings.”
After thanking the presence of the Cuban nurses who provide services in her country, the Prime Minister expressed to the dignitary her interest in further developing ties in the health sector and in other areas such as science, tourism and agriculture.
