Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Foreign Minister of Cuba, today condemned the actions of the United States (US) and its allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to assert their dominance, in violation of the Charter of the United Nations and International Union Law.

Speaking at the Fifth Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations, held in Kampala, Uganda, as part of the XIX. The Cuban Foreign Minister pointed out the practices they use to incite conflict and promote and finance regime change strategies.
They impose and intensify illegal unilateral coercive measures and resort to the selective use and manipulation of human rights for political purposes, added Rodríguez Parrilla.
In his speech, published on the official website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, he emphasized the importance of coordinating actions within the framework of the NAM mechanism, especially those related to intergovernmental processes related to the proposal of the Secretary General of the Organization of Cuba the United Nations (UN), known as “Our Common Agenda”, as well as the process associated with the Future Summit.
Rodríguez Parrilla once again condemned Israel's crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people, which, under the protection of the veto of the United States in the Security Council and with the support of its allies in NATO, have created a serious humanitarian situation that requires action by the international community
The head of Cuba's diplomacy condemned the hypocrisy, silence and inaction regarding the issue, especially from countries that call themselves defenders of human rights.
He also expressed support for the call for an international peace conference focused on ensuring the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and the full and immediate accession of the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations Organization.
In this context, it supported the Republic of South Africa's action against Israel before the International Court of Justice for violations of the occupying Power's obligations as a State party to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
Concluding his speech, the Foreign Minister reiterated the support of the Cuban delegation to the declaration that will be made at this ministerial meeting, as well as the constant support and contribution in the context of the important activity of this group of Friends of the Charter of the United Nations.
