Havana, March 23 (EFE).- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez confirmed this Thursday that the XXVIII.

Cuba has not yet announced who will lead the delegation to the summit, which ends a day before the general elections that the island will hold this Sunday, March 26.

The high-level meeting has the motto “Together for a fair and sustainable Ibero-America” ​​and, according to the organizers, has topics such as food security, the environment, digital rights and a new financial architecture on the agenda.

The meeting will be preceded by a meeting of foreign ministers and an economic forum.

At least 14 Heads of State or Government from the 22 participating countries are expected to attend, including the Presidents of Colombia, Gustavo Petro; from Chile, Gabriel Boric; from Uruguay, Luis Lacalle, and from Argentina, Alberto Fernández.

Among the confirmed absences, those of Brazilian Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Mexican Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Salvadoran Nayib Bukele stand out.

It will be the first face-to-face summit since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, as the one in Andorra had a mixed format for that reason. EFE
