Havana.- GISLEIDIS Sosa, Director of International Relations for the National Institute for Sport, Physical Education and Recreation (Indians), is a member of the Ibero-American Sports Council (CID) and the American Sports Council (CADE).
The conclave has a seat in the Dominican Republic, as does the American Sports (CADE), both until the coming 28, with the presence of representatives from 40 countries.
The policy conveyed a message from the President of Inder, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, presenting the experience of the Cuban sports system and the benefits of physical education with four sports for the development of skills and abilities in girls and boys.
He also referred to the early detection of talent and the practice of sports and physical culture in general. “All this thanks to a social system that promotes these issues and for which significant resources are allocated,” he said.
“We provide the Cuban experience of the Project for Life and we are grateful for the accompaniment of UNESCO and the CID in the responsibility that our country exercises in CIGEPS,” he said.
Among the confirmed participants are the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, and the Ibero-American Secretary General, the Chilean Andrés Allamand.
The Latin American representative of UNESCO, the Uruguayan Andrés Morales, the CID President, the Costa Rican Alba Quesada, and the CADE President, the Colombian Guillermo Herrera, also made appearances.
Francisco Camacho, sports minister of the host country, stressed that “holding these summits strengthens our ties as sister nations”.
“The issues to be discussed will be of paramount importance for sport in general. It will be three days of hard work alongside 40 ministers to ensure that sport continues to grow at all levels,” he added.
Allamand will speak on the topic of sport at the next Summit of Heads of State or Government, while Morales will speak on the methodological guide to development indicators as part of the 2030 Agenda.
