Bruno Rodriguez GrillCuban Foreign Minister, today reiterated Cuba’s commitment to continue to contribute to strengthening the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), valuable mechanisms of regional integration.
Via his Twitter account, Rodríguez Parrilla reported that at a meeting of foreign ministers at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, he spoke with Latin American and Caribbean counterparts on issues of common interest.
“During a meeting with the foreign ministers of Latin America and the Caribbean, we discussed issues of common concern. I reiterated #Cuba’s commitment to continue contributing to the strengthening of CELAC and ACS, mechanisms that make a valuable contribution to true regional integration.”

The State Department report highlighted participation in the exchange, in which Cuba reaffirmed its commitment to peace and multilateralism with the voice of its Foreign Minister, who is leading the Cuban delegation in the high-level segment of the General Debate of the 77th Ordinary Period Session of the UN General Assembly with headquarters in New York starting this Monday.

Latin America and the Caribbean have a lot to show the world, Rodríguez Parrilla assured in another tweet after the meeting between representatives of CELAC, the AEC and the CAF (Development Bank of Latin America).
He stressed that the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace (signed in 2014) is an international benchmark that obliges them to continue perfecting the forms of relations between the countries of the region and the rest of the world.

The Cuban Foreign Minister stressed the need for the international community to provide more aid and cooperation to Haiti, while fully respecting the sovereignty and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of this Caribbean country.
