Cuba’s will to prioritize actions to address the effects of climate change and the certainty of contributing to valuable international cooperation towards this goal was expressed today by Politburo member and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.
This was highlighted at this first regional meeting of leaders of the Caribbean community, taking place from this Tuesday in the Bahamas, ahead of the forthcoming United Nations climate change agreement to be held in Egypt in November.
In his speech, the Cuban Prime Minister conveyed a greeting from our President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, conveyed the appreciation and gratitude of the people and the Government for the firm position of respect, support and solidarity of the Caribbean States towards our Fatherland, including before the fierce Incident at the Matanzas supertanker base.
The first regional meeting of leaders of the Caribbean community, which began this Tuesday in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas ahead of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, provides an appropriate framework to coordinate efforts to achieve the most effective implementation possible in our region for the benefit of the environment .
