Cuban Communist Party rejects arrest warrant for Putin

Havana, March 20 (Prensa Latina) The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) today rejected the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 17.

The head of the international relations department of the political body’s central committee, Emilio Lozada, pointed out on his Twitter account that the decision was a double standard and politically motivated, in flagrant violation of the principles of international law.

On March 17, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Putin and the Russian head of state’s commissioner for children’s rights, Maria Lvova-Belova.

This body alleges that both senior officials could be involved in the “illegal deportation” of Ukrainian children.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on this decision, stressing that decisions of the ICC have no meaning for Russia and their possible arrest warrants are legally void.
