The obligation to promote the cause of our people and an integration that eliminates inequality and guarantees sovereignty over its resources is inalienable, said Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez this Saturday in Puebla.

At the opening ceremony of the IX. At the meeting of the Puebla group, which meets in the Mexican city where he was born four years ago, Rodríguez Parrilla sat at the presidential table with several former presidents, vice presidents and chancellors, led by coordinator Marco Enriquez-Ominami.

The Cuban Foreign Minister assured that this integration must take place in absolute independence, on the basis of diversity in unity and vice versa, which promotes the political consciousness of the people.

After thanking him for the invitation to the event and conveying greetings from the revolutionary leader Raúl Castro Ruz and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, he expressed that in this meeting he felt the spiritual presence of Fidel Castro and José Martí de Che have and Chávez (Hugo) because there is a rebirth of Bolivarian ideals that bring us together and mobilize us.

The meeting of the group, he specified, takes place at a time when in the political balance of our America there is an irreversible trend of progress and transition from a unipolar system, from an oppressive neoliberal globalization and the hegemonic rule of imperialism multilateral system accumulates new kind.

He recalled that a meeting of the Group of 77 and China from all over the South had just ended in Havana, which clearly expressed a common idea linked to the progressive ideals of the Puebla Group.

Also with its proposals and risks and with the possibilities of a financial pact, not like other meetings in Paris or Brussels, which did not give a cent to the South and did not even mention the word sovereignty to our people.

He said that the meeting in Puebla was good to analyze the keys to what is happening in the 21st century, and in this context he asked the coordinator to disseminate among the participants of the meeting the introduction of the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone Peace agreement adopted in Havana in January 2014, with specific positions linked to the legacy and goals of contemporary progressivism.

Among other things, he cited the need for collective defense, the resurgence of fascism, the use of political violence against democracy and the defense of human rights.

He confirmed that in Cuba the construction of socialism continues as a means of overcoming the challenges, the revolution is being renewed and progress is being made towards the future, amid a serious economic situation due to the tightening of the blockade imposed by the United States 60 years ago and exacerbated first by Donald Trump and then by Joe Biden.

He denounced that the blockade has never been more illegal and inhumane than it is now, saying that it is causing great humanitarian damage and, at the same time, has never been more extraterritorial and cruel than was shown during the Covid-19 pandemic, at the height of which it occurred Cuba banned the purchase of lung ventilators and blocked the import of oxygen.

He called on the United States government to remove Cuba from the rogue list of countries that sponsor terrorism, where Donald Trump placed it nine days before leaving the presidency, but Joe Biden kept it there.

Puebla Group: We are in a changing era, not a time of change

The former President of Colombia, Ernesto Samper, assured that we are in a change of era and not a time of change and that we must be prepared.

At the opening of the IX. At the meeting of the Puebla group, which meets in the eponymous Mexican city where this mechanism was born four years ago, Samper indicated that they are returning home, to a historic place, because that is where the battle against the French took place , where they suffered their first military defeat and the document that began liberation theology was signed.

Mentioning a sentence from former President Rafael Correa, who also sits on the board along with Evo Morales and Martin Torrijos, former presidents of Bolivia and Panama respectively, he said that we can better understand this era change in the last five years. as there was a halt to a progressive rise in Latin America, which is resurgent after the great devastation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He recalled how the conservative winter re-emerged with the nightmare of Donald Trump in the foreground, all the misfortune that this caused, and how the war in Ukraine emerged and increased inflation as we began to emerge from the pandemic and Defeating right-wing extremist governments came from the start.

But all this, he assured, is part of the change of the era and in a way marks the beginning of the end of the previous one, but that must be promoted and that will be done in this IX. Conference of the era discussed Puebla group.

The world is deglobalizing, but it must be dismantled, even if we do so slowly. This post-epoch or this neoliberal deglobalization is called dedollarization, and only when we get closer to this goal will we be able to talk about the creation of a new space in a global understanding. As Lula (Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva) said, we had not realized that the dollar was the secret hegemonic weapon, so globalization had an owner and neoliberalism was a game of losers and winners. That’s why we wanted this meeting to discuss “What pinches our shoe, what hits progressivism,” he said.

And it is in this sense that unilateral sanctions are formulated; they are all bad, those of the United States and Europe, because they relate to people, countries and economies; They are illegal, but allowed and tolerated if only those listed in the United Nations Charter are valid.

It is not possible for one country, no matter how powerful, to arrogate the right to punish another, he stressed, which is why they are immoral and offensive and expand the scope of confrontation, and this must be discussed here as well.

For this reason we wanted to present this IX. at the meeting, calmly and with numbers in hand, put forward the proposal for a new financial architecture to counteract the negative effects of sanctions, and globalization cannot be accepted by maintaining these immoral and unjust measures.

Samper announced that a proposal is also being considered to end the war in Ukraine, whose peace we are all committed to, and that is what we are proposing in the document on international policy, which includes a ceasefire leading to ways of peace leads.
