A total of 155 undocumented people were arrested in two buses just off the Campeche-Mérida highway in the municipality of Umán. The Yucatan Public Security Secretariat said in a statement.

Of the 155 migrants, 67 were from Guatemala, 45 from India, nine from Brazil and nine from the Dominican Republic. In addition, seven citizens from Honduras, seven from Cuba, six from Vietnam and five from El Salvador were traveling in the said buses.

The buses were immediately inspected by the authorities responsible for public safety on the Campeche-Mérida highway in the municipality of Umán. The drivers were taken to the Yucatan Attorney General’s Office and are facing charges.

Meanwhile, undocumented migrants are now at the INM to be treated according to protocols in these cases.
