Sincere congratulations from the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Cuban people were brought to the people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic at the ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Polisario Front

A ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Polisario Front was held in Havana on Wednesday in the presence of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
During the event, a young Sahrawi student studying on the island considered the Caribbean country the home of all foreign students studying here.
Stressing that the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, will always be an example, he thanked the largest island in the Antilles for working for the just causes of humanity and training young revolutionaries capable of fight against injustice anywhere in the world.
Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and Special Envoy of the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Jatri Adduh, thanked Cuba for his accompaniment, noting that the island has a glorious people whose progress will not be possible around to stop the acceding states’ aggressive blockade.
“There could be no better place to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Polisario Front than heroic Cuba, an example of resistance and struggle for its sovereignty,” he stressed.
He stressed that the Sahrawi people are increasingly united and strong, aware that there will be no rest in struggle until they achieve self-determination, sovereignty and true peace.
Yudi Mercedes Rodríguez, member of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), brought a greeting from the Cuban people on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the front.
“The leadership and resistance of the Sahrawi brothers over 50 years makes them admired by the peoples, who recognize the enormous sacrifices they have made in their firm determination to uphold their noble and legitimate aspirations,” he said Officer.
PCC Organizing Secretary Roberto Morales, Vice President of the National Assembly of People’s Power Ana Mari Machado, SADR Ambassador to Cuba Omar Bulsan, and representatives of the Ministries of Armed Forces, Health, Public Affairs and Education.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia el-Hamra and Río de Oro, a SADR-led political and military organization, was formed on May 10, 1973 with the aim of fighting first against Spain and then against Morocco illegally occupying part of the territory the Western Sahara.
