Cuban Prime Minister welcomes World Family Doctor Day

Havana, May 19 (ACN) Manuel MarreroPrime Minister of Cuba, today on Twitter congratulated Cuban health professionals on World Family Doctor Day, which is celebrated on May 19th.

Receive heartfelt congratulations to our country’s healthcare professionals who play a leading role in caring for their patients every day, the Prime Minister said.

Marrero recognized his active work in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and added the hashtag #CubaSalvaVidas to his tweet.

“On World Family Doctor Day, warmest congratulations to these healthcare professionals in our country who play a leadership role in caring for their patients every day and play an active role in fighting #COVID19 #CubaSaveLives.”

World Family Doctor Day was first proclaimed by the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) in 2010 and has grown into a day highlighting the role and contribution of family doctors in healthcare systems around the world.

The day is an opportunity to recognize the specialty’s central role in providing personalized, comprehensive, and ongoing medical care to all patients.
