Cuban reggaeton player Ovi’s first statements after his release from prison

Cuban reggaeton player Ovidio Crespo, known by his stage name ovHe offered short statements this Wednesday afterwards out of jailwhere he has been for a since mid-March Report of domestic violence submitted by her partner and the mother of her baby.

His release on bail was delayed due to another case that has been open since December after he starred in a fight with another artist in Miami and took a firearm.

“I just connected to say that I am very grateful to all the people who have had me in their prayers. You know, family, people who know me know we’re moving forward, we’re warriors. Everything is fine, everything is perfect,” read Ovi’s terse message via an Instagram Direct.

Ovi was arrested in Miami on March 13 on a domestic violence complaint by his partner Ada Urquijo, who accused him of punching her in the face while holding their baby.

The reggaeton singer was placed on $1,500 bail and was due to be released on March 14, but his case was complicated by a fight outside a Miami restaurant with Cuban artist Leamsy Izquierdo Molina in December.

Now Ovi faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a firearm, the fight in Miami and domestic violence charges against his partner.

According to the Miami-Dade Attorney’s Office, made available to CiberCuba, the trial on the fight’s felony charges is scheduled for April 25; and the trial on the domestic violence charges is scheduled for April 11.

The reggaeton player did not provide any information about his court proceedings in his initial statements.
