Eight of the 32 workers from Cuba’s Henry Reeve Medical Brigade who arrived in Türkiye this Sunday relocated today to the city of Buyukyapalak Elbistan in Kahramanmaraş province, where they will stay for seven days.

This was announced by the Cuban Ministry of Health (MINSAP) in a message on its Twitter account, adding that this team, accompanied by a translator, will work in a medical clinic staffed entirely by Cuban staff.
“This morning, 8 of the 32 staff members, accompanied by 1 translator, moved to the city of Buyukyapalak Elbistan/Kahramanmaraş Province, where they will stay for 7 days in a medical clinic fully supervised by Cuban staff.”
Another MINSAP tweet reported that Cuban collaborators continue to write pages of solidarity and love in this sister nation, which was rocked by a strong earthquake on February 6 that left more than 20,000 dead and more than 80,000 injured.

Cuba offered its medical assistance after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake recorded in Turkish territory, followed hours later by a 7.5 magnitude aftershock; Both earthquakes also affected Syria, where the death toll so far exceeds nearly 10,000 and the number of injured exceeds 15,000.
Since its inception in 2005, the Henry Reeve Contingent has served earthquake-affected populations in Pakistan (2005), Indonesia (2006), Peru (2007), China (2008), Chile (2010), Haiti (2010), Nepal ( 2015) ) Ecuador (2016) and Mexico (2017).
