Buenos Aires-. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez said today that the VII Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) is historic because it gave continuity to the revitalization of this multilateral organization.
Rodríguez said it was an event of unification, unity in diversity, purposeful in terms of drawing attention to fundamental problems in the region, such as climate change, the situation in the world after the Corona crisis, development, the exercise of Human Rights and Democracy.
According to information from the Presidency of the Republic of Cuba, the Cuban Foreign Minister considered that the Buenos Aires Declaration and other approved special documents contain references to Cuba condemning the US blockade and including Havana in the list of countries suspected of terrorist financing.
The minister acknowledged the various challenges Celac has had to face in recent times, but currently there is a favorable political correlation in the region, similar to that which led to the creation of Celac.
As a sign of this strengthening and revitalization, the Chancellor also saw the opportunity to hear heads of state from other countries that do not belong to our region and were convened at the summit as part of the summit.
In this sense, he referred to the interventions of Chinese President Xi Jinping; the President of the European Council; the representative of the North American President Joe Biden as well as the African groups.
