A Tennessee grandmother who ordered a fairytale cake for her granddaughter’s first birthday took to TikTok to denounce the four-story nightmare she received after paying more than $200.
“This is the worst cake I have ever seen in my life. When I said I was really upset about the outcome, she said, “I admit it was definitely harder than I thought,” grandmother Khrissy Joe said in a video that has been viewed more than 5.7 million times. as The Mirror reported. On Monday.
Two weeks ago, the Tennessee woman ordered a four-tier cake sprinkled with sugar flowers and mushrooms to form a fairy house for her granddaughter’s first party, based on photo inspiration from the Internet, the grandmother explained on the platform.
However, two days before the reception, she had contacted the pastry chef to whom she had paid more than $200 for the order to get photos of the preparation. Then she was told that the cake wasn’t ready yet.
It wasn’t until the reception that she would have realized that her dream cake had turned into a nightmare when she was instead left with a four-tiered, lumpy, cracked mess that only vaguely resembled the photo in Inspiration.
There were also plastic flowers to decorate the whole thing and there was large, barely legible writing on one of the floors.
“My granddaughter’s first birthday cake was a disaster. I was so upset and so disappointed,” she continued in a second video.
If the pastry chef had refunded her half of the amount, many netizens pointed out that the original price should have been a warning as it was not high enough for a quality cake like she was hoping for.
“[Mais] As a pastry chef myself, it’s important to know what you can and can’t do,” one user pointed out in the comments.
