During the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, Mont-Sainte-Anne is transformed into a cycling paradise for five days. The event, known under the Vélirium brand, changes production teams this year and brings together the world’s best cyclists, enthusiastic families and enthusiasts.

The descent of Mont-Sainte-Anne is an iconic route on the world circuit and remains a highlight of the event. In this individual time trial, athletes start from the terrace of the summit hut through a series of fast and technical sections with scree, jumps, roots and bumps.

Olympic cross-country and short track fans can watch the world’s best athletes in action on courses reinvented by the experts at Vélosolutions Canada.

On Thanksgiving Day, KIDOVÉLO welcomes future champions ages 2 to 12. In addition, there will be a premiere UCI Pump Track qualification, which will take the elite winners (aged 17 and over) to the World Championships. This competition is also open to two junior categories (11-12 years and 13-16 years).

Post-race evenings, the exhibitor village, local market and campsite will also liven up the mountain.

As part of the UCI World Tour calendar, the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec brings together the 18 world teams made up of the best riders in the world. This is a unique opportunity to see them in action and encourage these elite athletes to cycle through the heart of Old Quebec, known for its terrain and charm.

The riders cycle on a 12.6 kilometer long street circuit with 186 meters of elevation gain, which they have to complete 16 times. This route passes, among others, through the plains of Abrahams, Côte Gilmour, Boulevard Champlain, Côte de la Montagne, Rue des Remparts, Côte de la Potasse, Rue Saint-Jean, Côte de la Fabrique, Chemin Saint-Louis and Grande Allée, a total of 201 .6 km.

Departure will take place on Friday September 8th at 11am from Place Georges-V in the Grande Allée. Fans gathered to applaud the cyclists will also take the opportunity to visit the Fan Village, which brings together more than 15 exhibitors.

Crankworx summer series

The Crankworx Summer Series returns to Quebec for a second edition where both professional cyclists and mountain bike enthusiasts looking to showcase their talent will attempt to qualify in three events that will take them to the Crankworx World Tour in 2024 Whistler could lead.

At Slopestyle on September 2nd, the “riders” will perform amazing aerial maneuvers on a course full of jumps and obstacles, keeping the whole family in suspense.

The next day, athletes generate speed with fluid movements in a breathtaking pump track event. Additionally, children ages 6 to 14 can take classes with professionals and participate in friendly competitions at Kidsworx.

As for the highly anticipated downhill event, it will wow crowds on Monday as athletes race at high speeds down a steep and technical course, navigating technical sections, drops and jumps.

In a festive atmosphere, moderated by a DJ, spectators can stroll through the Village, which brings together industry partners, food trucks and various kiosks.
