A father has become a viral sensation after hilariously announcing he was leaving his family group chat, declaring that he “couldn’t live with the pressure” of having to reply to everyone’s “random thoughts, pictures and conversations”.

Allison D’Orazio, 23, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, shared a screenshot of Thomas D’Orazio’s healthy exit from her father’s chat Twitterand it drew a ton of praise from millions who admitted they feel the same way about group messaging too.

“I can’t keep up with the pressure of constantly lol or liking or listening to everyone’s random thoughts, pics and conversations,” he said.

“For all future lyrics: I love them, laugh at them or like them, unless it’s bad, in which case I don’t like them. Unlimited time. I can’t live with this pressure. I’m out.’

Many people were quick to hail Thomas, who works as an eye doctor, as “so real” and relatable for his explanation, and some claimed they also hate the requirement of being part of a chain full of people.

“Literally me,” one person wrote, while another added, “My kind of person,” with a heart.

“Me in every group chat ever,” said another. A fourth tweet read: “Same, f**k group chats.”

“This dad knows true freedom and I envy him,” joked another user.

“Pops I feel you so hard,” another person wrote, while a sixth said, “That. I’ve always wanted to say that.”

Allison told Good Morning America that the group chat consists of herself, her father, her mother Amy and her 19-year-old younger sister Alexa.

What sparked his now-viral message, she explained, was that the women sent each other various links that they “found funny,” as well as pictures of what they were doing.

“We sent out a bunch of article links to stuff we found funny,” she told the publication.

“And that day I was working on a sewing project and sending pictures of my stitches because I was just learning to sew and I was looking forward to it.”

She added that her father “loves to engage with and interact with their messages,” so he “felt the pressure to like everything” they sent — which is difficult with his busy schedule as a doctor.

And though she explained he was “out” at the time, she said Thomas (seen in a throwback pic with his daughters) ultimately chose to stay in the family group chat

“Actually, he doesn’t [look at his phone] until his lunch break and then [he doesn’t again] by the end of the day so there must be so many text messages when he’s checking his phone after appointments,” she revealed.

“He probably thinks there’s a fire or something when it’s just our random stuff.”

And although she explained that he was “out” at the time, she said that Thomas ultimately chose to stay in the family group chat.

“He’s introverted but loves us,” she added. “He would be happy if we were his only friends and his whole life. I knew he was joking.”

And now he’s certainly enjoying his newfound fame and internet attention, with Allison concluding, “He said, ‘Oh great, now people are going to expect me to be funny all the time.’ And he said, “Now that’s a LOL.”
