PARK CITY, Utah — Dakota Johnson joked Armie Hammer would have had a chance to “eat” her if she had starred in “Call Me By Your Name.”
While praising the film’s director Luca Guadagnino at Opening Night: A Taste of Sundance presented by IMDbPro on Thursday, the ‘Lost Daughter’ actress joked that she was almost cast as the film’s iconic peach.
“Unfortunately I wasn’t there [‘CMBYN’]. Luca had asked me to play the role of Peach, but our schedules were at odds.
“But thank God, because I would have been another woman trying to eat Armie Hammer.”

At first, the crack received a few laughs and chuckles, but after an awkward pause, Johnson received enthusiastic applause and cheers.
“Who knew cannibalism was so popular?” Johnson, 33, added, referring to Guadagnino’s recent project Bones and All.

Guadagnino, 51, was honored with the Sundance Institute International Icon Award.
Hammer, 36, has remained relatively reclusive since he was accused of rape by a woman named Effie and of sexual misconduct by ex-girlfriends Courtney Vucekovich and Paige Lorenze.
The duo starred side by side in Wounds.
Vucekovich, the founder of glamor app Flashd, told Page Six in January 2021 that the disgraced “social network” star would express his desire to “barbecue and eat” her during her courtship.
“He told me he wanted to break my rib and grill it and eat it,” she recalled.

“‘Fk, that was weird,’ but you never think about it again,” Vucekovich said, overlooking the weird behavior at the time. “He says, ‘I want to take a bite from you.’ If I had a small cut on my hand, he would happily suck or lick it. That’s about as weird as we got it.”
Meanwhile, 24-year-old Lorenze claimed to Page Six that Hammer used a knife to carve the letter “A” near her vagina.

“I kind of sat back and let it happen,” she told us at the time. “I didn’t really know what to do or say. … As sad as that is, I wanted him to like me and feel like I was down for what he wanted.”
Hammer has vehemently denied any wrongdoing through testimonies from his attorney.

“From day one, Mr. Hammer made sure that all his interactions with [Effie] — and every other sexual partner of his — were fully consensual, discussed and agreed in advance, and mutually involved,” the statement said.
“[Effie’s] Attention seeking and ill-advised legal action will only make it more difficult for genuine victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve.”
The ‘Death on the Nile’ actor remains under investigation by the LAPD.
