In a court document filed Monday afternoon, Jones’ attorneys alleged Davis offered to “make a deal” with Jones before filing the lawsuit. Defense attorneys also allege that Jones and the Cowboys were “the targets of multiple money extortion attempts.”
“The potential source(s) of these attempted extortions, including but not limited to the plaintiff and her agents, will be the subject of other litigation that has been filed or will be commenced shortly,” the legal filing reads.
Both sides initially agreed to seal the full lawsuit, but court documents state that Davis “alleges that the defendant is the plaintiff’s biological father and makes several additional allegations alleging that the defendant has for the plaintiff and the mother.” of the plaintiff to keep this information confidential”.
Jones’ attorneys first told the court that “the defendant has a serious and substantial interest in the plaintiff’s allegations not becoming public knowledge.” Tuesday’s motion to withdraw its request for the case to be sealed gives no reason for the change.
Andrew Bergman, an attorney for Davis, told CNN he is asking Jones to provide evidence to support the allegations against his client.
“I will say that every single allegation about his daughter Alexandra seeking money and/or blackmailing him is a sad, cynical, false, perverted, defamatory, malicious and pathetic attempt to take responsibility for his behavior towards his own daughter expropriate, circumvent,” Bergman said in a statement late Tuesday, with a more detailed statement being released Wednesday.
Jones did not immediately respond to CNN’s requests for comment Tuesday night.
ESPN and the Dallas Morning News both previously reported that Jones met Davis’ mother, Cynthia Davis Spencer, while she was working at an American Airlines ticket office at the airport in Little Rock, Arkansas. Davis is 25, the outlets reported.

Both outlets also said Jones denied paternity but agreed to pay Davis’ mother $375,000 and set up two trust funds for Davis, according to the lawsuit.
