NFL football is back, and so is Bill’s safety Damar Hamlin.
The Buffalo fan favorite rose to prominence after suffering an on-field cardiac arrest during a Jan. 2 game between the Bengals and Bills in Cincinnati.
Hamlin hadn’t played since that moment, but has become a prominent figure on the American sports landscape and is one of the most talked about NFL players despite his limited performance on the field.
He got his first snap on the Bills’ kickoff after James Cook scored the first touchdown of the game. How much of the game Hamlin will play remains to be seen.
As Indianapolis went back on offense, Hamlin then snapped at his usual safety position.
The 25-year-old was seen enjoying himself before the game, dancing to music blaring from the speakers at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, NY.

No. 3 was off the field on the first Indianapolis drive where Anthony Richardson was picked up by Dane Jackson.
The former Pitt star is currently second to Micah Hyde on the Bills depth chart at the free safety position.
While his place in the Bills roster is far from certain, there’s a strong chance he’ll remain in Buffalo’s 53-man roster, at least for now.
It remains to be seen how much time Hamlin will play in the game or if he will be on kick-off duty given his speed and physicality.
