DAN WOOTTON: William is right to snub Harry during the coronation

With each revelation of yet another capitulation to the destructive Prince Harry, I shift from believing King Charles is weak and brainless to admitting he’s just a devastated father doing whatever it takes to get his wayward son back to his side lest he embarrass his family and the country on an international scale.

What I do respect, however, is the steely determination of our heir to the throne, Prince William, to make short work of the Duke of Delusion.

On his forthcoming solo visit for the coronation, Harry will face his older brother’s brutal treatment of silence.

There will be no reconciliation talks; certainly not the public or private apology Harry and Meghan ridiculously demanded until just a few weeks ago.

The strategy behind the coldness of the Prince of Wales, whom Harry described as his “nemesis” in Spare, is twofold.

William remains furious at Harry's behavior over the past three years, but especially since the late Queen's death seven months ago, when the Sussexes used their anti-Commonwealth Netflix series and the release of the spiteful autobiography, Spare, to publicize the British monarchy during some Time to inflict maximum damage in its darkest hours. Understandably, he remains furious at Harry’s behavior over the past three years, but especially since the late Queen’s death seven months ago, when the Sussexes used their anti-Commonwealth Netflix series and the release of the spiteful autobiography Spare to max out the British monarchy inflicting harm in some of its darkest hours.

That’s before you get to his palpable anger that Meghan also used two major TV platforms to slander his beloved wife Kate, knowing that as the future queen, she was unable to defend herself in any form to tell the truth to reveal.

But far more than any personal bitterness, William now feels the hands of history on his shoulders as heir to the throne.

He knows full well that next month’s coronation simply cannot be overshadowed by Harry and Meghan’s constant distractions for the future of the monarchy.

Inscrutable to William, his self-absorbed brother already managed the funerals of the late Queen and Prince Phillip — not to mention the otherwise great platinum anniversary — a great deal about his and Meghan’s endless psychodrama, causing untold distress to their elderly relatives.

Well, not this time.

William is determined that the focus must be solely on his father as he is officially crowned King Charles III. is crowned.

As sad as this may seem, it means that agreeing to have a simple chat with your brother, even if it’s just pleasant small talk, is a significant PR risk.

After all, trust between senior members of the royal family and the Sussexes has been shattered to the point that they will no longer meet either Harry or Meghan alone for fear they may be passed on to the American media with a negative or unfair bias towards the monarchy continue to tarnish.

In recent months, the potential for Harry to bypass established US media to use their toxic family business to further his commercial ventures has become a stark reality.

Such was the shock and horror of the royal courtiers at Harry’s disgusting decision to include verbatim quotes from the grieving king immediately after his own father’s funeral in order to write a dramatic chapter in his racy book.

So far, at moments of family importance, William has tried to brush aside the bitterness, at least in public.

Notable was the tense appearance at Kensington Palace to unveil the statue of her mother Princess Diana and the joint public tour outside Windsor Castle, which Kate is said to have described as one of the toughest things she has ever had to do, according to a recent book by the royal top author Robert Jobson.

On each of those occasions, William rightfully feels that goodwill has been thrown back in his face while also making more headlines about the desperately intense feud.

This time he’s determined not to fall into the same trap; the stakes are just too high.

Meghan’s decision to stay at home, which I think stems from her innate fear of being booed by an angry British public, has at least made the scenario easier to navigate.

Although Charles (pictured on Friday) has at least partially reconciled after a phone call with Harry, the time for William and Kate to continue taking risks with the Sussexes and further jeopardizing their own reputations is now over

William and his team initially feared that the former Hollywood actress’ presence with her husband at her coronation would be a major distraction, raising serious concerns about the couple’s time together in London to make a public appearance for the royal set to exemplify the woke brand they aim to impose on the royal family.

As Harry is performing alone, it is highly unlikely he will attempt anything similar, with suggestions he will remain in the UK for a few hours to quietly attend the service himself before immediately returning to California to celebrate his fourth birthday Son Archie to celebrate party.

But although Charles has at least partially reconciled after a phone call with Harry, the time for William and Kate to continue taking risks with the Sussexes and further jeopardizing their own reputations is now over.

Every olive branch was thrown in their faces with a vicious brutality that can only come from a duo intent on causing maximum disruption and effectively overthrowing the monarchy as we know it, though it retains the overwhelming respect of the British public even after death the late queen.

Harry and Meghan don’t want Charles and William to succeed in their post-Elizabethan reinvention of the royal family; They want to undermine Britain’s great traditions to which they no longer belong.

Of course, one understands the plight of the king as a loving father.

But I think it’s William and Kate who read the Sussexes’ acute mood in much more detail.

It’s time to stop giving in to their enormous egos and realize that there is nothing to be gained by giving in to their ridiculous demands and foolishly chatting about formal apologies to Meghan.

Only proximity to the royal family will keep the Sussexes in business in Hollywood, and they’ve lost that right.

When even Mia Farrow, the Liberal Hollywood actress who was previously one of her most outspoken defenders, admits to being “tired” of the couple, you know the game is up.

So William’s silence isn’t harsh; Defeating Harry and Meghan’s ridiculous overthrow of the British monarchy is morally and strategically best. It’s also the least this couple deserves after the damage they’ve caused over the past three years.
