Daniel Auster, the Brooklyn father arrested for manslaughter in the drug-related death of his young daughter in Park Slope, was handcuffed from Brooklyn Criminal Court to Methodist Hospital in Park Slope late Saturday for treatment.

Auster, 44, the son of award-winning writer Paul Auster, was due to be tried in the case in a night court before being abruptly taken to hospital.

Photos from The Post show the defendant wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and a mask as he is escorted to the back of an ambulance by NYPD officers.

It is not clear why he was treated. He is now due to be charged on Sunday.

Auster was caring for his 10-month-old daughter, Ruby, on the afternoon of November 1 when paramedics responded to an 911 call from his Brooklyn home and found the child unconscious and unresponsive.

She was taken to Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
