Brodie described her previous life on television as “superficial” and said her career had left her traumatized, unhappy and overworked.

Brodie, who entered the entertainment industry as an 18-year-old, also claims she was pressured into leaving her last job and went on to describe a toxic culture full of egotistical actors and “outdated” executives.

Brodie described her decision to leave the job she “loved” as liberating, saying it was “hard on her ego but important for her soul.”

She went on to talk about her heartbreak because former colleagues no longer wanted to deal with her after she quit.

“I met people in the 'industry' who asked what show I would work on next,” she said on her Instagram Story.

“Or if I had the latest salacious gossip,” she continued.

“And when I answered “nothing” and “no,” they looked at me in silence and judgment…

“As I became more distant from television, I lost touch with countless people I once considered my closest friends, probably because I no longer had anything to offer them for selfish reasons.”

Brodie continued to condemn the culture she experienced in television productions.

She complained about unspecified “injustices” on set and “immoral behavior” behind the scenes, saying she was angry at herself for not doing anything about it.

Elsewhere in her intimate reveal, the blonde beauty said she was initially hesitant to speak out about the injustices she allegedly saw on TV for fear they would impact her future career prospects.

“If that fear has been instilled in me,” she explained, “what hope does an intern have as someone who has held senior production positions and been fortunate enough to have an extensive network of contacts?”

“Are we so fragile as an industry that we can’t hear how big an impact the dark side of Australian television can have?”

Brodie says she has now started a new career, “which has been the richest part of her life”.
