Daniel Radcliffe is not going to be Harry Potter again anytime soon.
After the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, original director Chris Columbus floated the idea of adapting Harry Potter and the Cursed Child into a film with the original trio of actors.
But Radcliffe addressed the idea, saying that he wasn’t ready to return to the wizarding world just yet. In an interview with The New York Times, Radcliffe bluntly responded to a question about the Cursed Child idea, saying it was “not something I’m really interested in doing right now.”

“I’m getting to the point where I feel like I got out of Potter just fine and I’m really happy with where I am now and coming back would be a huge change in my life,” Radcliffe says.
The actor continued his post-Potter career with a series of supporting roles, in which Radcliffe appears to have personally invested. Whether it’s playing a magical corpse in Swiss Army Man or playing “Weird” Al Yankovic in the upcoming Weird Al biopic.
Radcliffe added the usual “I’ll never say never” but also said that actors like Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill, who eventually returned to Star Wars, had 30 years before returning. “It was only 10 for me,” Radcliffe says.
Harry Potter is off the ice just because Radcliffe is not returning to the role. The Fantastic Beasts-based spin-off series is in the making for its third film, and PlayStation recently showed gameplay from the Hogwarts Legacy video game set in the late 1800s.
Hogwarts Legacy is targeting holiday 2022 as the release date.
