Ego: The Michael Gudinski Story offers a never-before-seen look at Gudinksi, who was instrumental in bringing Australian music to the world.
A recently released trailer shows A-list stars Ed Sheeran, Dave Grohl and Jimmy Barnes sharing fond memories of the legendary promoter.
Meanwhile, Gudinski’s widow Sue reveals her husband, who died in 2021 at the age of 68, had a cheeky side that came out when Frank Sinatra toured Australia in 1989.
“Someone said no one should call him Frank. He’s referred to as Mr. Sinatra,” she says in the trailer.
However, she said her husband was unaware and shocked the legendary crooner by calling him his first name.
“He said, ‘Frank, it’s so nice to have you here, we’ve got a party coming up and we’re going to have a lot of fun tonight.’
Michael Gudinski died in March 2021 at the age of 68, leaving behind his wife Sue, children Matt and Kate, and two grandchildren.
The music promoter founded Mushroom Records when he was just 20 and went on to sign local artists and launch their careers like Kylie Minogue, who is now one of the biggest pop stars in the world.
In 1979 he founded the concert promoter Frontier Touring and remained at its helm until his death.

The Mushroom Group said in a statement: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Gudinski AM.”
“The popular Australian music legend died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Melbourne, Australia. Michael Gudinski was a key figure in shaping the Australian music industry.
Gudinski was photographed at a Midnight Oil concert just days before his death, where he was acting like his “typically boisterous, fun self.”
He posed for a photo with Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garrett and ABC News Breakfast host Michael Rowland.
