Four days after the Olivier’s 24th Gala, the face-to-face between generations that took place during the celebration hosted by Katherine Levac (where the older comedians caught their colds in the evening’s various gags) continues to stir the conversation.
La Presse columnist Marc Cassivi, known for not having his tongue in his pocket, was kindly mocked in an article entitled Tasse-toé mononcle! and published on Wednesday, by Guy Nantel and Dany Turcotte, who said they were troubled by the tone and general mood of the gala.
“It’s the irony of the bad loser. Guy Nantel knows all about it,” Cassivi writes about Guy Nantel in his column, which you can read here. Speaking of Dany Turcotte, the La Presse rep mentions that he “accuses other comedians with contempt after spending more than 15 years multiplying uncomfortable and inappropriate jokes in his role as jester on Everybody talks about. »
Guy Nantel answered him drooling, which he’s known to be capable of. See or check his answer here.
As for Dany Turcotte, he said a few words to journalist Cassivi during an interview with Showbizz.net on Thursday. Turcotte not only detailed his thoughts on the controversial tweet he tweeted on Sunday, in which he evoked the “general disdain” of the new generation of comedians for the old (read our interview here), but also pointed out that Marc Cassivi may not have fully understood his tweet.
“He doesn’t realize that the jokes didn’t bother me,” specified Dany Turcotte, who in particular denounced “the proliferation” of jokes criticizing the oldest comedians and their absence at the gala rather than a specific act or gag .
“He’s writing a bit of nonsense because he just read the tweet. He has no information. I have not spoken elsewhere,” added Dany Turcotte.
Dany Turcotte presents his documentary The Last Closet – Aging Gay, which focuses on the reality of LGBTQ+ seniors and which we will be talking to you about shortly, on Thursday 6 April at 9pm on ICI Télé.
