Dapper and Shelley tied the knot at Weybridge Register Office in July 2022.

The wedding took place four years after Dapper unexpectedly proposed live to former glamor model Shelley following his eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Dapper shocked the studio audience and viewers at home when he unexpectedly proposed to his then-girlfriend Shelley during his eviction interview with host Emma Willis in January 2018.

The disgraced comedian got down on one knee mid-interview and asked his longtime love to marry him – causing her to burst into tears, and she wasn’t the only one, as viewers were also emotional after the sweet moment.

Recalling his experiences in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Dapper admitted he had a lot of time to think while starring on the Channel 5 reality series.

He turned to his girlfriend and said, “You know what, when I was in the house I regretted every day that I didn’t ask you…So will you marry me?”

He then presented Shelley with a makeshift ring as she burst into tears at the romantic gesture.

Dapper revealed that he had planned to pop the question while waiting for an answer, saying, “Is that a yes?” Sorry about the ring, Ginuwine made it for me, but we’re trading it for one better one.’

Stunned by the scenes unfolding before her, a shocked Emma quipped to Dapper, “You shot the ring before she could say no,” as they continued their post-eviction conversation.

Dapper insisted that he would continue to follow through on his marriage proposal the traditional way (or as close to it as possible), claiming that he would check with Shelley’s father again to see if he was okay with him asking her to marry him asks.

As ever the comedian, he couldn’t help but joke: “Is the ring okay?” You won’t need another one.’

He told Web that his proposal to Shelley Rae was a last-minute decision – adding that he made the ring out of paper with Swarovski diamonds attached.

He said he realized Shelley had “taken a massive backseat” in his life over the past year and he “regrets” not proposing sooner.

“My last year was a roller coaster ride. My father died, I had a baby, and I focused heavily on my career. “Shelley had to take a massive back seat,” he said.

The star and Shelley had been together for three years at the time and welcomed their first child together, daughter Neve, now five, in December 2016.

Neve’s arrival came after Shelley expressed fears the couple would be unable to have children after being told by doctors she would struggle to conceive.

Dapper Laughs rose to fame as a stand-up comedian and pickup artist, achieving great success in 2014.

However, he fell spectacularly out of favor when, during a stand-up gig, he joked that an audience member would “gag because of rape” while being accused of misogyny.

After a campaign called on ITV to sack the star, the broadcaster announced it would not be renewing its show Dapper Laughs: On The Pull.

He later made a somber appearance on Newsnight in November 2014 in which he said the character had gone into indefinite retirement, but brought Dapper Laughs back to life a month later.

He has since been at the center of controversy at CBB after making lewd comments about his female housemates, including a “vile” oral sex joke about Ann Widdecombe.

Despite efforts to restore his image through his time on CBB, Dapper still faced questions about his continued crude jokes when he appeared on ITV’s Loose Women following his eviction.

The show’s panelist Nadia Sawalha asked the prankster tough questions about the shocking incident and stressed that despite his remorseful words, he still has “something to learn.”

Regarding his career crash, Dapper Laughs said: “It broke my heart that it upset so many people.” And rightly so. I found it very difficult to sit down and explain everything to Maggie [Oliver] that I was in there because I made poor judgment. And it was important to come out to her as a friend.”
