Parade Mazzini loses another piece, in this case one of the historical activities whose window display was lit 88 years ago, albeit on the opposite side of the street. Total evacuation announces the closure Sanitary samplesa shop specializing mainly in lingerie, corsetry and shoes for the home, which closes its doors at the end of December.

He announces it Daniela Paganelli, owner of the company that she took over with her husband after the death of her in-laws who founded it: Gino Sampieri and Cesarina Baravelli. “He came back from Russia and opened the shop 88 years ago, in the beginning it was across the street. I remember that they sewed the busts themselves – says Paganelli –. My father-in-law died in 2008 and my mother-in-law a few years earlier. I’ve come window shopping a few times and then my husband, Andrea Sampieri and I took over the business.”

Why the decision to close? “I retired last year, it is not easy to continue, there are expenses for everyone – explains the owner –. The online sale of all our suppliers and similar shops has “taken away” many customers from us and with it the personal and trusting relationship that is so important and significant in this work. We put up the ‘Transfer Business’ sign for months, but none of those present were interested in taking it on. Today, in addition to the classic items, this sanitary ware also deals a lot with underwear. Above all, we have a clientele of ladies, some of whom usually come from outside Forlì and regret the closure.”

Paganelli is also part of the association “ideas in progress“, for the revitalization of the district of San Pietro in Forlì. “Unfortunately we didn’t find any alternatives, our two daughters went different ways. The emptiest area of the square is the one closest to the square, rents are high, there are many historic buildings owned by people who may not live here, just interested in income.” In fact, the part of Corso Mazzini that has located in a restricted traffic area, many closed shops. The general sale lasts until December and on the 3rd the Sampieri Sanitaria window will be closed.
