According to the preliminary vote, the socalled “Argentine Jair Bolsonaro” won the presidential primaries, but did not reach 30% of the preferences and received 29.8% of the votes, for a total of 7,352,244 votes.
The “Together for Change” party, in which Bullrich former minister of Mauricio Macri defeated Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, mayor of Buenos Aires, achieved 28% (6,895,941 votes) between its two candidates.
However, the “União pela Pátria”, a government coalition whose presidential candidate is the Minister of Economy, increased by a tenth compared to the original count and ended up with 27.28% (6,719,042 votes).
Of the other parties that fielded candidates in the primaries, only “We do it for our country” by Juan Schiaretti and the “Frente de Esquerda” won the right to take part in the presidential elections on October 22nd.
To be elected, the candidate must achieve a lead of 45% in the first round of voting. Otherwise, a second round between the two bestplaced teams is scheduled for November 19th.
According to analysts, forecasts about the outcome of the dispute are very uncertain, even considering that of the 36 million eligible voters in Paso, only 25 million voted. .
