The big fat Bollywood wedding of the year is set to take place this week. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding celebrations will reportedly begin on Wednesday and the big day is reportedly on April 14. While the star couple has been vocal about their relationship for years, their wedding preparations are top secret. On Monday, the wedding venues – RK Studios, Krishnaraj Bungalow and Vastu – were decorated with lights, Sabyasachi outfits were also delivered to the wedding venue. So here’s a recap of all the details we know so far – from the dates to the venue to the guest list.
Events
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding celebrations will kick off with a mehendi ceremony, which is set to take place on April 13. While some reports gave April 14 as the wedding date, others reported that the big day was April 15. Alia Bhatt’s uncle Robin Bhatt told India Today that Alia and Ranbir will be married on April 14. According to reports, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will host two big wedding receptions for their friends on April 16th and 17th at the Taj Colaba. The guest list will be star-studded (more on that later).
The Venues
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have reportedly chosen Ranbir’s Bandra house Vastu as the official venue for their wedding, while all pre-wedding celebrations, from mehendi to sangeet, will take place at RK Studios in Mumbai’s Chembur. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will host two grand wedding receptions for their friends at the Taj Colaba in Mumbai. Chrysanthemums and white button flowers were reportedly sourced from Bangalore for their wedding venue. They will reportedly be relocating to Krishnaraj Kapoor Bungalow in Mumbai – All 3 venues have been decorated with lights.
The guest list
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding will be a private affair attended only by family members and close friends. Sharing the guest details of his sister Alia and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding, Alia Bhatt’s brother Rahul Bhatt told India Today the couple’s intimate wedding will only have 28 guests. The reception, on the other hand, will be studded with stars. Reported guest list for their wedding reception has been revealed and includes some simple names – A source close to the star couple told India Today that Alias dear Zindagi co-star Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone (Ranbir’s ex and his co- star of three films) are also on the guest list, as is Karan Johar, who created Alia in Bollywood. Ranbir’s best friend Ayan Mukerji, who is directing the pair’s upcoming film Brahmastra, is also invited.
