In fact, in an interview with the Collider site, the 54-year-old former wrestler argued that the second part of the saga will have “more action” than the first chapter, which will be released in fall 2021.
“It’s a lot more intense than the first movie,” said the actor, who will play Rabban in the sequel.
“The first part was a kind of introduction. There is a lot going on [dans le second film]. It’s also sharper, more political and more intense. There are floating moments, but also amusing scenes that are equipped with an absurd humor.
Dune director Denis Villeneuve made a similar statement last year, insisting that the second film in the saga will have “more action and less dialogue” than the first.
In his interview with Collider, Dave Bautista also praised the Quebec filmmaker, with whom he had already worked on the first Dune but also on Blade Runner 2049: “Because my character is more present in the second film, I spent more time with Denis [Villeneuve], he pointed out. It was exciting because I love working with him. He manages to bring out the best in me. Before I left the set, we even talked about the idea of doing another film together. I won’t say anything more until this project comes to fruition, but he knows it’s my dream to work with him as a lead.”
Filmed in Budapest and the United Arab Emirates last year, Dune 2 will be released on November 3rd.
