They didn’t laugh.

According to a report, comedian Dave Chappelle criticized the United States for supporting Israel’s “war crimes” against Palestinians during a live performance in Boston on Thursday, prompting some audience members to leave the room.

The controversial comedian made the comments during a show at TD Garden on Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Chappelle condemned Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel, which killed some 1,400 Israelis, but criticized what he said were Israeli war crimes in Gaza, sparking some opposition from the crowd, those in attendance told the media.

According to the Journal, the uproar began when an audience member told Chappelle to “shut up” after he said he didn’t believe people should lose their jobs for supporting Palestinians.

Chappelle then criticized the Israeli government’s decision to cut off food, water and electricity to the Gaza Strip.

Part of Chappelle’s planned events includes an Oct. 19 show at TD Garden in Boston.

According to the report, he also accused Israel of killing innocent civilians and committing war crimes.

More than 4,300 Palestinians were killed in the conflict as Israeli forces relentlessly bombarded the enclave with more than 6,000 bombs. According to the Palestinian authorities, the dead also include women and children.

Other spectators cheered and shouted “Liberate Palestine!” while others shot back: “What about Hamas?!” witnesses told the Journal.

Some spectators walked out after the raucous moment.

Towards the end of the show, Chappelle reportedly said that two wrongs don’t make a right, referring to the Hamas attacks and Israel’s subsequent military response.

A spokesperson for Chappelle told the outlet that the comedian “denies being in Boston that night” — even though the show was listed by ticket outlets on his dates.
