The 54-year-old Foo Fighters frontman joined the band on stage at Rock N Roll Pizza Bar in Simi Valley on Monday night (August 21, 2023) to help them perform songs from the Rolling Stones, Queen and other iconic rock bands, Pitchfork, reported to cover.

Songs covered at the concert included The Rolling Stones’ “Bitch”, Queen’s “Tie Your Mother Down”, The Police’s “Next to You” and AC/DC’s “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”.

For the AC/DC cover, Dave Grohl and the members of Chevy Metal were joined by Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on drums. Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane also played drums during the performance.

Chevy Metal was among the bands who performed at the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert at London’s Wembley Stadium last September, which also featured the Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures, Nile Rodgers, Kesha and Mark Ronson.

Taylor Hawkins, drummer for Foo Fighters since 1997, died in March 2022 at the age of 50 while the band was on tour in Bogota, Colombia.
