Dave Hughes reveals his wife has threatened to stop having sex with him if he loses more teeth

Dave Hughes’ wife isn’t a fan of his trademark gap-toothed smile.

The comedian, who is missing ten teeth due to poor oral hygiene, revealed Monday that his wife Holly, 20, had previously threatened to stop having sex with him if he lost more teeth.

“I lost some teeth [my] 20 years [of marriage]’ the 51-year-old comedian said Monday on Hughesy, Ed and Erin’s breakfast show.

“I haven’t lost a tooth in three or four years, which is extraordinary because they fell out in one place on the left, right and in the middle. Dropping like flies,’ he added.

Hughes, who is now missing nearly a third of his 32 teeth, said Holly finally took a stand.

“My wife once said, ‘If you lose more teeth, it’s over. No more intimate times for you’ – which I found disappointing… but whatever, I won’t go that route’.

Co-host Erin Molan also revealed she previously dated a rugby player whose false teeth once fell out while kissing.

Despite the faux pas, Erin said she dated the unnamed athlete for four years after the incident.

It comes after Hughs admitted Holly once claimed he looked like a “meth addict” because of his missing teeth.

“My wife is worried. She says I’m starting to look like a meth addict!’ he said on his Channel 10 show Hughesy, We Have A Problem in 2018.

Hughes explained that his teeth fell out faster because he grew up in the “country” and consumed a lot of “orange juice.”

“But I’m from the county and [my wife is] from the city and when you’re from the country and your teeth fall out you get on with your day,” he told the studio audience.

The prankster added, “But if you’re from town, you’ve got to keep them in your mouth for the rest of your life.”

“One of my problems at the moment is that I’m missing some teeth,” he said. “Not just one, two, three…I’m missing 10 teeth!”

The Driving Time radio host later said his wife Holly “forced” him to go to a specialist to have his patchy grin fixed.

And Hughesy was even more unlucky when he saw the specialist.

“The person took an X-ray of my mouth and told me I didn’t have enough ‘jaws’ to put the studs for the dentures in,” he said.

Dave revealed he could have opted for a lengthy “bone diagram” to correct his missing jaw.

“Take some hip bone, put that in your mouth and then wait six months to see if it will lodge in your jawbone and if it does, do you have enough room for the bolts so we can start drilling” , he said about the procedures.
