Sunrise star David “Kochie” Koch was treated to a special breakfast on his last day as host of Friday’s breakfast show.
The TV veteran, who has been the face of the top-rated morning show for 21 years, was spotted indulging in a delicious egg and bacon bun before washing it down with a latte.
Kochie leaned over the news desk while munching on the greasy sandwich to avoid getting bits of food on his immaculate suit while his co-host Natalie Barr practiced her lines.
Tears flowed as Kochie entered the set after hugging his colleagues who had formed an honor guard inside the studio.
‘Thank you for everything. Thank you very much. Ouch. Quick, I have to [read] “The news,” Kochie said as he prepared to read the news for the last time.

It wasn’t long before Kochie began receiving text messages from friends and TV competitors, including Today show host Karl Stefanovic.
“Karl and I are texting right now,” he told Natalie.
“I asked him if he booked a sports bet that made me cry on the show and he said ‘no, my wife closed my account last year when I was betting on the camel races in Dubai.’
“Well by the time we walked in you were already crying so someone won some money,” Natalie said, laughing.
Previously, Kochie also aired when his grandkids appeared on TV to pay tribute to their “Poppy.”
“He’s always very nice and always giving us advice and tactics for our sports game and Eyespot montages.” “We’ve always supported each other and he’s taught us to take a half-glass perspective,” they said.

Kochie’s last day got off to a hilarious start when weatherman Sam Mac fired a shot at the outgoing host.
During his weather post, Mac pointed out that the Sunrise offices were almost completely empty when Koch left.
“Very exciting day, emotional, a real testament to how much you are loved Kochie when I look at all the staff here,” Mac joked as the camera panned across the darkened office.
The slide didn’t end there, however, when Mac pointed out a hilarious sign on the door of Koch’s office.
The sign read “Olympicians Only,” a nod to the fact that the 67-year-old was set to be replaced by Olympic sprinter Matt Shirvington.
At the start of the show, the 67-year-old was in tears as his grandchildren appeared on TV to pay tribute to their grandfather
“This is your office, or at least it was, someone has already taken over,” Mac said before leading the camera crew into the room.
Inside, the word “SHIRVONATOR” was taped to the wall.
Among them were several of Shirvington’s famous magazine covers from years past, including one of the former Olympians riding a horse in their underwear.

“The weekend newspaper said the public had tried to cover it up [image] from him,” said a laughing Natalie Barr.
On a desk was a “to-do” list said to have been written by Shirvington himself.
One of the items on the whiteboard read, “Do we need weather????”
“Yes we do, Matt,” Mac joked.
“Thanks to the man, he’s moving fast and well,” the weather presenter said.

Kochie stunned his peers on Monday when he announced his retirement from the hit breakfast show after 21 years.
During his on-air announcement, Natalie appeared heartbroken as Kochie said he’s spent more time with her than members of his own family in recent years.
He said he is leaving the hit show to focus on his own business and to enjoy more flexible working hours to spend time with his growing family.
Kochie joined Sunrise in 2002 to present financial reports and became Chris Reason’s successor in October of that year when the journalist was diagnosed with cancer.
Matt Shirvington, 44, who will replace Kochie, said he has “mixed feelings” about the new appearance.
