“There’s going to be a time and a place for that, but I knew the cameras were on and I was like, ‘Show that, I can’t do that,'” he added.

David has said he owes his career to Candice, who has been a constant source of support.

He said she was a guiding light at the crossroads of his early career.

The two are doting parents to their three daughters: Ivy Mae, Isla Rose and Indi Rae.

It comes after David smashed South African bowlers as he went a double century despite struggling with severe heat exhaustion and cramps as temperatures soared to 36C in Melbourne on Tuesday.

As the left-hander was overcome with emotion and celebrated his centenary with a customary pounce and a kiss to his family, Candice was seen appearing to be holding back tears as she clapped her husband.

With daughters Ivy Mae, Isla Rose and Indi Rae in tow, Candice looked a PR pro through and through as she immediately began interviewing both networks.

Pointing out that the off-field drama surrounding Warner’s failed attempt to lift a leadership ban had taken a huge toll on both him and the family, she dropped a bombshell by blasting the game’s governing body, Cricket Australia , seemed to criticize again.

“Everyone says he (Warner) is too old and should retire. First of all getting the 8000 Test run is a huge milestone, then getting a Test century – hopefully people will take it back a little bit now,” she told 7 Cricket presenter Mel McLaughlin.

“It wasn’t an easy summer with the racquet, nor did he really get much support behind the scenes where it was needed.

‘When we talk about it, it depends on the captain’s stuff, it’s dragged on and it shouldn’t have been.

“It’s going to mean a lot… no one thought he’d make it. There were so many doubters along the way,” Candice said of the criticism Warner has received throughout his rollercoaster career.
