Dawson’s Creek star Kerr Smith reveals he’s “working” on a spin-off of the classic ’90s teen series.

Kerr Smith has announced that he is working with some of his former castmates on a spin-off of Dawson’s Creek.

The 50-year-old actor announced that a script will be centered around his ’90s character Jack and set in the show’s fictional town of Capeside.

Speaking to Morning Show co-hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies on Friday, the former teen star didn’t reveal too much about what he’s working on as it’s still in the “early stages.”

“I’m working on a spin-off,” he revealed. “Me and a few other cast members are working on something.”

Emdur tried to press the Hollywood star for more details, but Smith remained closed.

“Nobody will see that in America. So something is in the works?’ Emdur asked.

“Not in the works,” Smith replied. “It’s still very preliminary at this point. But something has been written and we are trying to finish it.’

The Riverdale star also hinted that there could be some cameo appearances from his former co-stars.

‘We will see. We’ll see what these guys want to do in terms of cameos,” he said.

It has been 25 years since the hit drama series Dawson’s Creek premiered, which ran for six seasons between 1998 and 2003.

In honor of the big milestone, the show’s stars began a behind-the-scenes peek, including 44-year-old actress Katie Holmes.

Holmes played Joey Potter on the show, who became the focus of the show’s famous love triangle. At the opposite ends of the triangle were Dawson Leery, played by James Van Der Beek, and Pacey Witter, played by Joshua Jackson.

Katie shared three shots of herself with other cast members on her Instagram Stories, originally posted by Mary-Margaret Humes, who played Dawson’s mother on the show.

Besides sharing the photos, the Batman Begins actress wrote a few heartfelt words about one of the shots.

‘Happy 25th!!!!! I loved growing up with everyone and having some really good times! Thank you to all the #dawsonscreek fans.’

He began by saying, “25 years ago today… my life changed. Not gradually, not day by day… immediately.

“It was the culmination of 5 years of auditioning, hundreds of hours on stage, thousands of hours of travelling, preparing, dreaming, hoping, hearing ‘no’ and finding reasons to keep going.

The actor went on to share how fame wasn’t everything he expected, how there were cool moments where I pinched myself, and how grateful he was to have met the people he had met.
