Louise Sorel is back on Days Of Our Lives with the sole purpose of “making trouble”.
The 83-year-old actress, best known for her role as Vivian Alain on the long-running soap, will make a dramatic return to the series on September 8, three years after her last appearance on Days Of Our Lives.
Story-wise, her iconic soap character is slated to hit the big screen following the death of her husband Victor Kiriakis, who was played by the late John Aniston, according to People.
The last posthumous appearance of Jennifer Aniston’s late father in the famous soap opera was in September 2022.
The series killed John’s legendary in-universe crime figure by killing Victor in a plane crash off the Mediterranean coast – hence the reason for Vivian’s return to the series.

Louise first appeared in Days Of Our Lives in 1992 and played Vivian until the turn of the millennium in 2000. She returned several times to reprise her role in 2009-2011 and 2017-2018.
The relationship between Vivian and Victor was strained from the start, as the former initially only wanted to marry Victor for his money and power.
However, she quickly realized that she harbored genuine feelings for the mobster when Victor began pursuing Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow).
Always a schemer, Vivian not only planned to have the embryo that Kate and Victor had planned for an in vitro pregnancy, but she also disguised herself as Kate for her wedding to Victor.
As a result, she tricked the criminal mastermind into legally marrying her instead of Kate.
Ironically, after the couple’s divorce, Victor had to propose to Vivian a second time (without the deceptions of her first marriage) to stop Vivian from killing Melanie, Victor’s daughter-in-law.
However, after the couple married a second time, Vivian became dangerously jealous of her husband’s newest lover, Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers).
Even attempting to bury Maggie alive, Vivian instead found herself two meters underground – although she was rescued by one of her minions, the villainous move spelled the end of her second marriage to Victor.

While it’s not known what Vivian is up to until she returns to Salem in Days Of Our Lives, it’s highly likely that Victor’s smart-ass ex-wife has returned to read his will.
Days Of Our Lives co-creator Ken Corday told People after John’s death, “There is no question that all of us at Days will mourn this great and profound loss.” John was an icon, but more than that he was a pillar of strength and unity for our Days of Our Lives fellowship.”
He added, “He will always be in our hearts along with our ‘Victor Kiriakis’.”
It remains to be seen if the September 8 episode of Days Of Our Lives will be Vivian’s first and last reappearance in Salem at the conclusion of her ex-husband’s death.
