He was also known for his portrayal of Rex Sterling on The Young and the Restless, a role he played in more than 200 episodes.

For the role of Sterling, Redeker was twice nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1989 and 1990 for his role in The Young and the Restless.

He won the 1989 Soapy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role: Daytime for The Young and the Restless.

The actor also appeared on shows like The Six Million Dollar Man, Starsky & Hutch, Kojak and Barnaby Jones during his TV heyday in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

Redeker was known for his dashing portrayal of Captain Madison in the 1977 TV movie The Love Boat II.
