DCs Wonder Twins Movie Casts KJ Apa and Isabel May

DC’s Wonder Twins Movie Casts KJ Apa and Isabel May –

DC has found its live-action Wonder Twins. Warner Bros. has tapped KJ Apa and Isabel May for its HBO Max film, has confirmed.

Adam Sztykiel, who co-wrote the screenplay for Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming Black Adam, is writing and directing Wonder Twins. Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are producing.

In DC lore, the Wonder Twins are a pair of alien siblings named Zan and Jayna, who were introduced in Hanna-Barbera’s brand new 1970s superfriends hour, where they were the young companions of older heroes like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. They then made their way to the Super Friends comic book and were eventually incorporated into the larger DC universe. They are known for their slogan, “Wonder Twin Power, Activate!” where Jayna has the power to transform into animals and Zan transforms into water. In the internet age, they have been the subject of numerous memes and jokes.

Warner Bros. recently released The Batman, and next up on the DC front is the animated DC League of Super-Pets on July 19, followed by Black Adam (Oct. 21) and Shazam! Wrath of the Gods (Dec. 16).

Apa rose to stardom thanks to The CW’s Riverdale, who played comic book character Archie Andrews, and also helmed the 2020 Michael Bay-produced pandemic thriller Songbird.

Apa is represented by UTA, Matt Luber and Jackoway Austen. May is represented by Coronel Group and Felker Toczek.
