A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition. Like the deceased, she may have taken the Blue Punisher pill. Four suspects were arrested.
A 13-year-old girl from Altentreptow in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has died after allegedly taking the Blue Punisher ecstasy pill. A 14-year-old boy with the same blood and urine values is in the intensive care unit in Neubrandenburg and is in critical condition, a spokeswoman for the Neubrandenburg police headquarters said on Tuesday. The drug “Blue Punisher” is a very strong variant of Ecstasy.
A 15-year-old friend of the fatality is in the hospital recovering. A fourth girl from Malchin also took “Blue Punisher” – she could be questioned and confirmed that she accepted. The girl felt nauseous and had abdominal pain at times, but she is fine again. According to the investigators’ findings so far, only the 13- and 15-year-olds, who attended a school in Altentreptow, in the Mecklenburg Lake District, knew each other. Four police prevention officers were deployed there on Tuesday.
Police reportedly arrested four suspects aged 16, 17, 17 and 37 on Monday night. All four have yet to comment on what happened, police said. They are accused of trafficking and passing on narcotics to minors.
Another dead girl – are there any connections?
Over the weekend, a 15-year-old died in the neighboring state of Brandenburg – presumably also from drug use, according to the public prosecutor. An autopsy should clarify the cause of death. According to their own statements, investigators also have a possible connection to the death of the 13-year-old from Altentreptow in mind. According to the police, this girl died on Monday at the clinic in Neubrandenburg. On the evening of the same day, police found the 14-year-old lying on a sidewalk in Neubrandenburg.
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Health Minister Stefanie Drese (SPD) reacted with great dismay to the 13-year-old’s death. She pleaded to stay away from drugs of all kinds. Especially for teenagers, ingestion is extremely dangerous and can cause permanent damage. The police suspect that the drug is still circulating in the region and also issued a strong warning.
