Death of Karl Tremblay: Gathering in L’Assomption

Grieving admirers of the Cowboys Fringants gathered outside the Vieux Palais de L’Assomption on Wednesday evening to honor Karl Tremblay, who had previously died of prostate cancer.

A few dozen people sang hits by the group, some of whose members had settled in this town in the Lanaudière region.

Mayor Sébastien Nadeau also announced that the flags in front of the town hall had been lowered to half-mast. “Knowing your great humility, I am sure that when you sang the song “At half mast” you never imagined that one day they would be for you. Hello Karl Tremblay, hello my friend,” wrote Mr. Nadeau, who also sent a “big hug” to Marie-Annick, Pauline and Simone.

In Montreal the flags were also lowered to half-mast. They will be in Quebec on Thursday.

Spontaneous meeting, Wednesday evening, at L'Assomption. The death of Karl Tremblay shocked the citizens of the city where he lived.
