According to information from Kiev, at least three people died in Russian shelling of two coal mines near the city of Toretsk, in eastern Ukraine. “Another five were injured,” Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Telegram on Thursday. Several buildings and equipment were damaged. 32 coal miners working underground still managed to return safely to the surface.
Torezk is located in the Donetsk mining region, just five kilometers from the front line between Ukrainian and Russian troops. According to authorities, the attack was carried out with four glide bombs. Ukraine has been defending itself from the Russian invasion since February 24, 2022.
