In the last three days, the country has not recorded any casualties attributed to the actions of terrorists, as Salvadoran law calls members of the gangs.
By the end of September, the death rate from gang activity was between 2.3 and 2.4 percent per 100,000 inhabitants, according to PNC leader Mauricio Arriaza Chicas, for whom the country became an “international security reference.”
Statistics released this morning by police show that Thursday, December 21, ended without violent deaths throughout Salvadoran territory, allowing the country to add 14 days without homicides so far this month.
So far in 2023, 243 days without deaths due to violence have been recorded between January 1 and December 14 this year.
Since President Nayib Bukele took office until December 21, 511 days without deaths by criminal groups were reported, due to the territorial control plan applied by the state, supported by the emergency regime that overrides several constitutional guarantees.
