Faced with a significant decline in satisfaction rates in a light surveyBruno Marchand reiterated that “we must listen to the population” and promised that he would “quickly” announce his colors regarding a possible candidacy for mayor of Quebec in 2025.
“You have to listen to what people have to say. You have to listen. I haven’t finished listening to it yet […] It forces me to get better,” he said in an impromptu press release on Monday, arguing that he is currently developing “in a complicated context.”
However, the mayor added that it is completely in line with the five priorities of the population: housing, financial health, taxes, homelessness and mobility. “We are working on these five priorities […] We must continue to speak out and show results. That’s what people expect from us. We have to do better,” he agreed.
A quick answer follows
Asked specifically about a possible new mayoral candidacy in two years, he replied: “I’ve always told you that I don’t want the way I’m currently positioning myself in projects to make you think.” I’ll tell you that once, but I promise you that you will quickly get an answer about what my interests will be.
From the survey published on Monday in Le Journal, we learned that Bruno Marchand’s popularity rating has fallen and that almost half of citizens want a change in the town hall.
