The working day of a woman, a delivery service provider in the USA, ended last Monday evening (18) with a negative result. She was bitten by a poisonous snake while sending a package in Palm City, Florida. The situation occurred near the entrance to a customer’s apartment.
According to Martin County police, the woman called emergency services herself after her leg was stabbed. Her condition was initially considered “very serious”, but on Tuesday (19) authorities claimed in an interview with ABC News that her condition was stable.
With an estimated length of between 90 centimeters and 1.80 meters, the animal was a rattlesnake. As the Florida Animal Conservation Commission reports, the snake is highly venomous and is native to the region and is common in some residential areas.
Importantly, an Amazon spokesperson assured that the company is “reviewing the circumstances of the incident and will continue to ensure that couriers understand that they should not make a delivery if they do not feel safe.”
